CRAFT of the DAY: Snowman Pots

I saw snowmen made out of clay pots on the internet.  They were too cute I immediately thought, hey maybe we would could make these ourselves. So thats exactly what i  did. I was inspired to make these for my upcoming Christmas event as well.

You will need the ff;
  • terra cotta pots
  • acrylic or poster paints
  • scissors
  • black Sharpie marker
  • old glove
  • ribbon for hat

Start by painting your clay pot white.  It took two coats. Set it aside and wait to dry.

  Meanwhile, make a hat by cutting the fingers off of a knit glove.

Paint the rim as desired -- the scarf of the snowman.
play with colors and patterns.

When the pot is dry add the gloves upward to look like the brim of a winter hat.

 Add nose with a liner brush and orange paint. Add the facial features with the handle end of a paintbrush dipped in black paint (dotted mouth and eyes) and a Sharpie marker (wiggly smile).
Let everything dry then put a light coat of Mod Podge over the face and other white areas, taking care not to hit the hat.

 Each one is a little bit different but has a way of melting your heart..
Let it snow!its Christmas =)
