I lost 450 cc of blood today and i feel great!

Yesterday I overheard my husband on the phone instructing his staff to find people who can donate for his co-worker who is in the hospital and in need of a lot of blood.... without hesitation, I volunteered to donate.

Aside from boxing, styling and painting, I am also very passionate about donating blood, simply because I know the benefits it provides and know that it’s a very small imposition on me to donate something which I have plenty to give.

From my childhood I was taught to be rich in good deeds, and to be generous and willing to share. It really feels good when you've done something better for someone without hesitation and all comes down to ‘doing good’ and ‘feeling good’ in return.
Getting that heart-felt sigh when you feel you’ve made a difference ...however small. =)

And this evening was my third time to donate my blood for someone who is in need. I was nervous though it was my third time . I was still afraid for the HUGE needle that will go through my vain. Ouchy!! I am terrified still, BUT very determined to donate my blood to someone very important to another person.

6:30 pm today, April 16.
I was examined and gone though some procedures, blood type testing, interview etc. Fortunately, i am qualified and passed the SOPs.

9pm  I went back to the Blood bank

 .
gulp gulp! -edward
There's my husband who patiently waited for me and made sure everything was fine.

15 minutes later the 450cc was full of my blood
.
The needle in my arm made me feel dizzy but I manage to stay calm. I rested for a while, went back home and my husband fed me with this....
reward!!!!
and gave me extra fluids to replenish the pint of blood i have donated.

I love donating blood. Like I said, it doesn't take a lot of time on my part; but I know that I'm making a huge difference in my community.
When you donate blood, that blood can go towards 3 people who need it. So, your saving multiple lives within a 1/2 hour to an hour's worth of time.

I just wanted to take this opportunity and throw out information on blood donations to everyone.
Did you know that out of the entire population, about 94 to 97% of people are eligable to donate blood? And out of that large percentage, only 3% actually donate. Sad isn't it? i believe that anyone can donate blood, should donate blood.

Have you tried to donate blood to RED CROSS or directly to Hospitals?
Is giving blood good for your body??? Absolutely YES!

Why am i telling you this??? Because I think it’s the easiest and most selfless way to save a life and I hope in one or another, that just by feeding you people about this information would inspire at least one person to go donate.

So what are you guys waiting for? Go pick up the courage, and join me as a blood donor and head down to the nearest blood banks near you, or check http://www.redcross.org.ph/giveblood

My Yellow Sweet and Sweaty Gloves

They said crying іѕ one way tо express а strong emotion, but yоu cаn also dо thе same when yоu kick аnd throw punches іn thе air. Oh ,yes! I use these strong feelings and emotions tо increase thе intensity оf my workout. My latest fitness fad, after my flirtation with hiphop class and sanity with badminton and running , is now BOXING!

Ive been training for a month now with my best friend and kapatid Py Caunan who dragged me into this sport since we both like a lot of sweating tо shake оff our excess weight. We almost box every day except for maybe say, 2 or 3 days of rest a week. Haha! ( like draw something, boxing is addicting!)

As we train with this sport,we became more physical with all thе foot works аnd punches. I later realized how іt improves my self- control аѕ my training progresses. What was also so great about my training was the instructor and coach that gives me a lot of personal attention and supervision.
We start the training with warm-ups then we split into stations of which includes shadow boxing, speed ball, punch bags and focus mitts.
this is how  we do the "pogi" warm up
work it!work it!
knock out!!!!
My trainer patiently taught me the combinations, how to balance my weight when throwing a punch, how to generate power with my core and other helpful techniques. As a beginner..we do what is the most fun. Experiment and try numerous stances! New boxers are typically limited to the basic stance and then as I get better, i can adopt my own style. Can't wait!!!

Remember to always listen to your trainer and see what he says (or you will sprain your wrist!). What it looks like on the screen with the professional boxers is not exactly how it looks in real life!

And  of course,  together with my favorite trainer and coach, Freddie Roach :)
It was my lucky day!!! Spotted Freddie Rouch and Amir Khan during their training at Planet Jupiter

WHY I  LOVE BOXING????
The increased strength i got from the routines made me physically better. Boxing is a total body work out that improved my endurance, resistance, flexibility and reflexes. Despite being physically shattered and having painful wrist after our classes, I noticed how doing thіѕ release оf emotions makes me feel lighter. I am more calm аnd hаvе more tolerance towards оthеr people аѕ I am trained nоt tо just throw punches anytime I want tо. (crazy!lol)

Seriously,  thіѕ sport truly gives me the discipline and positive changes іn thе way i look, think аnd feel.  Also, yоu wіll advocate а healthier аnd more active lifestyle tо yоur friends аnd family.

Journey to Painting : Draw Something

My newest craze and its taking iphones and ipads by storm! I thought it would be something fun to do besides painting  and styling. It is incredibly addictive and even if (some) of my friends are sick of playing, others are still working together with me to build an incredible streak. Thanks for your patience guys! haha

My rule is never fail or we'll be back to square one. Its exciting how my artistic flair gives my playmates the eureka moment.

I feel that this game was made for my busy hands. I love seeing how others interpret different words . It sometimes has me almost rolling on the floor in hysterical fits of laughter.

Here are more of my best crazy sketches done on Draw Something.

All the drawings above are done on my iPad without using any stylus. So what are you waiting for??? Lez draw! Come play with me !
