An Eco Friendly Wedding

Don’t think having a earth-friendly wedding means sacrificing style.

Why not let nature do the decorating for you! Do-it-yourself decorative decors is definitely the easiest way to add charm to the big day.

This is your day to show the ones you love your passion for the environment.... from flowers to decor to invites, that treats Mother Earth like a special guest.

I always on the lookout for interesting objects I can recycle. Here I created and recycled beer bottles and buckets, added some organic or locally grown flowers for an instant floral arrangement.

I glued personalized labels as well to make them distinctive.

Instead of using a table cloth runner, i used a brown paper bag. It was gorgeous and personal --- Being green is really about reusing.

Having an Eco Friendly Wedding doesn’t need to be any less special than a conventional wedding .Not only it is cost effective, your guests will enjoy being a part of something unique and special.

Wedding Styling Tips: Decorate your chair with pretty flowers andsimple bows.

I feel people should no longer feel like a slave to the not -so-pretty organza chair sashes and chair covers.
Furniture is such an important aspect of styling any room, be it in your home or within a venue. And carefully chosen key pieces can really make or break a look.

The venue, including all it’s decor and surroundings should complement your wedding style not fight with it, and the venue you choose should be able to provide you with stylish and useable furniture in keeping with the rest of the surroundings.

Decorating chairs with flowers looks superb and creates an absolutely gorgeous enchanting effect on a wedding.

Remember not to overlook small details of your wedding. A few well-placed touches, can go a long way toward making your party look extra-special.
After all, the couple should be just 'sitting pretty' on their big day.

Styling tips and inspiration: Bouquet Charm

Your wedding is one of the most important milestones in life. If your mother is deceased, your wedding can rekindle or exacerbate the sense of loss that you feel. But there are ways to remember her during the wedding ceremony, both in your heart and publicly.

My childhood bestfriend Therese, lost her mom years ago and in remembrance of her mother, I told her to have a photo charm attached to her bouquet featuring a favorite image of her mother. It looked beautiful and meant a lot to her.

In that way, her mom was with her in spirit when she walked down the aisle.
An important thing to remember is that your wedding is a joyful celebration and the loved ones you are missing on the day would want it to be nothing less than that.

Thank you to the lovely bride for letting me share this photo.

A Romantic Country Wedding

Every time i manage and style weddings, I set a day-out with the couple, bond with them and concentrates on discovering their dreams as love birds, digging deep to find out the things that they love about one another. With Jomar and Kariza, together with the mother of the Groom , Mrs. Elenita vda. de Alzona we evaluated our know-how to get it done perfectly as well as how much time, patience, and creativity we have to bring to put our ideas together.
From there I made sure that everything about the wedding should reflect the couples true personal style, which is always important and making it a one-of-a-kind celebration.

 The Preparation
A lot of effort has gone into making this the special day.
It takes months and for some , years to choreograph all of these things into the perfect wedding. But in this case,it took us only 6 weeks to prepare.
Basically we had to work on with our budget so it was a huge DIY wedding. With a ton of help from the bride and grooms family and friends, we rallied and made everything from the ceiling swags to painting the pots for centerpiece to getting our flowers from the flower market the day before and making the arrangements to baking our own cupcakes, everything!

The Wedding Ceremony
Kariza and Jomar were married on Saturday, April 28 2012 in a beautiful church ceremony at Immaculate Concepcion Chapel .The bells rang, the choir sang and the bride was stunning. What a wonderful and romantic country wedding day it was.

The Theme
As for the reception, together with the couple, we decided a romantic country wedding.
But What is a country themed wedding? Generally speaking, when we talk of country wedding ideas, we are presented by different country escapes. Country weddings are not limited to barns and cowboys rescuing the lady in distress. It can be about the wildlife, gardens, farms, or any place that is relaxing and enjoyable like our venue Sentosa Private Hotspring Resort , an outdoor garden type resort that reflects the country life and owns by the grooms family.

My Style
For me, the elegance of a romantic country weddings is through its simplicity. It may be quite challenging but it was fun looking for grandeur on simple things.
I played with pots, woods hays and greens as it gives the couple and the guests a relaxing feeling. Setting the mood in country wedding is very important, so i made sure that all decors complements with each other. My personal favorite combination for a country wedding is: Wood and Ribbon – it’s feminine meets masculine, representing the joining of two.

It’s amazing how a Country themed wedding can be so picturesque even with the simple use of cheap wedding decorations. I guess It’s all about letting nature do the decorating for me. Do-it-yourself decorative decors is definitely the easiest way to add charm to the big day.
Here are some of my favorite country decorations from Jomar and Kariza's Wedding:

Decorative Monogram
The creation of a monogram is symbolic of the bride and groom's joining their lives in matrimony. There are many beautiful ways you can use these letters to personalize various details of a wedding, from invitations to the wedding cake and reception decorations. Here, I created a country handpainted monogram that adorn our reception table.

Personalized eco friendly hand painted give aways and Country boxes by Country Belles
My idea for the give away is to give the guest an extraordinary and personalized wedding souvenirs that will be cherished. Jomar and Kariza asked me to personally paint these delightful and unique country favor boxes and spatulas that represent themselves. These favors comes with a personalized label designed tags to add a special touch that their guest all loved!

Cake topper
I personally painted and made this for the couple that's just country-at-heart , this romantically styled cake topper shows the bride gettin' her groom with a real lasso.

Ceiling draping
We used white tulle for our swags and draperies for the ceiling that created a cozy ,soft and romantic feel . Adorned with the chandeliers that completely transformed this space from drab to dreamy.

Clay Pots and Flowers
Flowers and wedding centerpieces are important as it is one of the most noticeable during weddings. For this event, We had country flowers on a hand painted clay pots. These comes flowers comes in different colors and our florist made some experimental designs that enhanced the ambiance of the country side.

Table numbers
These hand-painted DIY table numbers added warmth and romantic ambiance to the guest table.

Decorative Country Wedding Signages
Designed and handpainted for the perfect outdoor country wedding. Made out of cardboards tied with satin ribbon or ropes.

Eye catching photo booth statement signs that the guest all loved!

Id like to thank these people (Friends I Love) for making the dream wedding possible for Jomar and Kariza. The rest of the J&K cast deserves recognition for a job well done!

Stylist note:
Most of the time, couple spends fortunes for their weddings. Some just spend a portion while others spend their whole savings for the ceremony. It is important that you will not end up broke after the ceremony. If you think there is no way to make your wedding simple, go for the country wedding. There are a lot of country wedding ideas that can help you save for the future. After all, simple is elegant.

To Jomar and Kariza,, its been a pleasure working with you.   thank you very much for making us  a part of your wedding celebration. =)

I lost 450 cc of blood today and i feel great!

Yesterday I overheard my husband on the phone instructing his staff to find people who can donate for his co-worker who is in the hospital and in need of a lot of blood.... without hesitation, I volunteered to donate.

Aside from boxing, styling and painting, I am also very passionate about donating blood, simply because I know the benefits it provides and know that it’s a very small imposition on me to donate something which I have plenty to give.

From my childhood I was taught to be rich in good deeds, and to be generous and willing to share. It really feels good when you've done something better for someone without hesitation and all comes down to ‘doing good’ and ‘feeling good’ in return.
Getting that heart-felt sigh when you feel you’ve made a difference ...however small. =)

And this evening was my third time to donate my blood for someone who is in need. I was nervous though it was my third time . I was still afraid for the HUGE needle that will go through my vain. Ouchy!! I am terrified still, BUT very determined to donate my blood to someone very important to another person.

6:30 pm today, April 16.
I was examined and gone though some procedures, blood type testing, interview etc. Fortunately, i am qualified and passed the SOPs.

9pm  I went back to the Blood bank

 .
gulp gulp! -edward
There's my husband who patiently waited for me and made sure everything was fine.

15 minutes later the 450cc was full of my blood
.
The needle in my arm made me feel dizzy but I manage to stay calm. I rested for a while, went back home and my husband fed me with this....
reward!!!!
and gave me extra fluids to replenish the pint of blood i have donated.

I love donating blood. Like I said, it doesn't take a lot of time on my part; but I know that I'm making a huge difference in my community.
When you donate blood, that blood can go towards 3 people who need it. So, your saving multiple lives within a 1/2 hour to an hour's worth of time.

I just wanted to take this opportunity and throw out information on blood donations to everyone.
Did you know that out of the entire population, about 94 to 97% of people are eligable to donate blood? And out of that large percentage, only 3% actually donate. Sad isn't it? i believe that anyone can donate blood, should donate blood.

Have you tried to donate blood to RED CROSS or directly to Hospitals?
Is giving blood good for your body??? Absolutely YES!

Why am i telling you this??? Because I think it’s the easiest and most selfless way to save a life and I hope in one or another, that just by feeding you people about this information would inspire at least one person to go donate.

So what are you guys waiting for? Go pick up the courage, and join me as a blood donor and head down to the nearest blood banks near you, or check http://www.redcross.org.ph/giveblood

My Yellow Sweet and Sweaty Gloves

They said crying іѕ one way tо express а strong emotion, but yоu cаn also dо thе same when yоu kick аnd throw punches іn thе air. Oh ,yes! I use these strong feelings and emotions tо increase thе intensity оf my workout. My latest fitness fad, after my flirtation with hiphop class and sanity with badminton and running , is now BOXING!

Ive been training for a month now with my best friend and kapatid Py Caunan who dragged me into this sport since we both like a lot of sweating tо shake оff our excess weight. We almost box every day except for maybe say, 2 or 3 days of rest a week. Haha! ( like draw something, boxing is addicting!)

As we train with this sport,we became more physical with all thе foot works аnd punches. I later realized how іt improves my self- control аѕ my training progresses. What was also so great about my training was the instructor and coach that gives me a lot of personal attention and supervision.
We start the training with warm-ups then we split into stations of which includes shadow boxing, speed ball, punch bags and focus mitts.
this is how  we do the "pogi" warm up
work it!work it!
knock out!!!!
My trainer patiently taught me the combinations, how to balance my weight when throwing a punch, how to generate power with my core and other helpful techniques. As a beginner..we do what is the most fun. Experiment and try numerous stances! New boxers are typically limited to the basic stance and then as I get better, i can adopt my own style. Can't wait!!!
with Coach Din aka Pakyaw of the Philippine Team

Trainer Noel
Remember to always listen to your trainer and see what he says (or you will sprain your wrist!). What it looks like on the screen with the professional boxers is not exactly how it looks in real life!

And  of course,  together with my favorite trainer and coach, Freddie Roach :)
It was my lucky day!!! Spotted Freddie Rouch and Amir Khan during their training at Planet Jupiter

WHY I  LOVE BOXING????
The increased strength i got from the routines made me physically better. Boxing is a total body work out that improved my endurance, resistance, flexibility and reflexes. Despite being physically shattered and having painful wrist after our classes, I noticed how doing thіѕ release оf emotions makes me feel lighter. I am more calm аnd hаvе more tolerance towards оthеr people аѕ I am trained nоt tо just throw punches anytime I want tо. (crazy!lol)

Seriously,  thіѕ sport truly gives me the discipline and positive changes іn thе way i look, think аnd feel.  Also, yоu wіll advocate а healthier аnd more active lifestyle tо yоur friends аnd family.
